Visit to God's own place ....also known as "Diawathinte Swantham" by locals in Kerala.

Always heard about royal hospitality, backwaters, coconut graceful farms, beaches, massages & not to forget the crispy "bannana chips". Hotspot for tourist & foriegners.

Travelling two nights one day the enthusiasm was half drowned. Thankfully had good food made by friends mom which took care of any sickness that I thought of . Safeguarding the luggage took away the thought of sleep & being the first longest ever trip made vai railways had been quite a smear experience. The site view of passing by stations like "Doodhsagar" with a stream flowing milky view, greenary & trekking spots had given a new hope for another trip to take was worth a million dollar experience on the way to "Ernakullam" the destination for a friends wedding. Night went by by by by checking the time each hour for 4 hours here was the time that hit my heart & mind with freshness leading to blissful morning which I had missed for so many years working for night shifts. Listening to birds churming, fragrance of bud flowers & cold breeze flowing through the cheeks to ears was ecstatic. Half asleep equally excited one & a half friend thought the station is yet to arrive hence train halted for few minutes which turned out to be untrue. We got down at the station now me & half friend with our luggage counting number of bags & one friend calling "driver" for pickup which was arranged by "Gejoo" the one who is going to kiss the bride ...yeeaahhh the groom..:)

Waiting outside the station viewing many foreigners passing by & all of us see a big posture of "Ayyapa Swami" temple which is a holy place, guys wearing blackdress barefoot were sourrended near a bus. Huurraaayyyy we saw the driver carrying name plate...Rushed towards him..looking at us he shows pittiness with a pale welcoming smile. Getting into "Indica" our cab me & half friend comfortably made space to sleep at the backseat, other friend & driver adjusting luggage. Ahhh now we have to travel for 2 hours to reach actual location where the marriage was held.. started out journey & the driver told us he isn't well other cab was arranged to take us..waiting within few steps away from station started feeling this "humid weather" effect. Other cab came & we adjusted ourselves asap to start off..aaahhhh now that all of us were half asleep..started sleeping & my half sleepy eyes still on the road through the rearview of the cab not to miss out anything. Cab going with bond movie speed took away my sleep & left me speechless. On the way saw a man weeping because he felt out of the bike ..thanks to Christ he was wearing helmet..but that scene made me request the driver to drive slowly. Stopped at a small tea shop we shared a good experience with awakening feeling of sweetness.

Watching Merc awaiting at the gate our guts flooded with emotions of deep sigh "Destination arrived".A teenager guy with his hanging jeans & a loose T-shirt trying to make his own fashion trend rushing towards us & by the time I could think towards old memories he hugged & welcomed ...aahhhh Christ thanks saved me from greater agony of not recognizing buddy. Taking long breath step forward & the whole family was so delighted to see all of us ..left with a feeling of family re-union. Groom was so engrossed with us he took us to his aunts place......a very decent independent plot when stepped in was so gracefully decorated wowwww Gejoooo you are a hunny bunny....

Pat from Cork wants to go to Kerala after reading this blog!!!

I have heard so much a bout it from reading Arundhati Roy, and Samii brings it to life with her wonderful and picturesque appetiser of her jouirney by and testing 2 day trip. The pace is relentless and has the feel of an "on the road" book, the sleeplessness erased by the exctement of the trip and the smells and feel of the new environment.

No wonder she cant recognise her buddy :)

Now...I Cant wait for the next episode ...

And the Movie !!!
